Elder Neal A. Maxwell taught:
"when corruption had reached an agency-destroying point that spirits could not, in justice, be sent here" (We Will Prove Them Herewith 1982, 58)
President John Taylor explained:
"by taking away their earthly existence, God prevented them from entailing their sins upon their posterity and degenerating, or corrupting them, and also prevented them from committing further acts of wickedness" ("Discourse Delivered by President John Taylor," Deseret News, Jan 16th. 1878, 787)

Fold 7. May we be like Noah. President Monson
President Thomas S. Monson taught.
"Noah had the unwavering faith to follow God's commandments. May we ever do likewise. May we remember that the wisdom of God ofttimes appears as foolishness to men; but the greatest lesson we can learn in mortality is that when God speaks and we obey, we will always be right" ("Models to follow," Ensign Nov. 2002, 61)

Fold 4. There was no evidence of rain. President Kimball
President Spencer W. Kimball taught:
"As yet there was no evidence of rain and flood. His people mocked and called him a fool. His preaching fell on deaf ears. His warnings were considered irrational. There was no precedent; never had it been known that a deluge (or flood) could cover the earth. How foolish to build an ark on dry ground with the sun shining and life moving forward as usual!" (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Spencer W. Kimball 2006, 140-141)

Moses 6:36 A Seer can see what others cannot
Elder
John A. Widtsoe of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles:
“A
seer is one who sees with spiritual eyes. He perceives the meaning of that
which seems obscure to others; therefore he is an interpreter and clarifier of
eternal truth. He foresees the future from the past and the present. … In
short, he is one who sees, who walks in the Lord’s light with open eyes. …
“… A
prophet is a teacher of known truth; a seer is a perceiver of hidden truth; a
revelator is a bearer of new truth” (Evidences and Reconciliations, arr. G. Homer Durham, 3 vols.
in 1 [1960], 258).

Moses 3:3. Sabbath Day Observance
President Nelson Taught:
How do we hallow the Sabbath day? In my much younger years, I studied the work of others who had compiled lists of things to do and things not to do on the Sabbath. It wasn’t until later that I learned from the scriptures that my conduct and my attitude on the Sabbath constituted a sign between me and my Heavenly Father.12 With that understanding, I no longer needed lists of dos and don’ts. When I had to make a decision whether or not an activity was appropriate for the Sabbath, I simply asked myself, “What sign do I want to give to God?” That question made my choices about the Sabbath day crystal clear.(“The Sabbath is a delight, President Nelson, April 2015 General Conference.)

Moses 2:28. The earth was created that families might be
Elder Russell M. Nelson:
"Grand as it is, planet Earth is part of something even grander - that great plan of God. Simply summarized, the earth was created that families might be" (The Creation, 85).

Moses 2:27 We are made in the image of God. We look like Him
President Thomas S. Monson taught:
"God our Father has ears with which to hear our prayer. He has eyes with which to see our actions. He has a mouth with which to speak to us. He has a heart with which to feel compassion and love. He is real. He is living. We are His children, made in His image. We look like Him, and He looks like us". (I know that my Redeemer Lives, Ensign, April 1990, 6).

Moses 1:18. Resist Satan by remembering your spiritual experiences.
....Don’t panic and retreat. Don’t lose
your confidence. Don’t forget how you once felt. Don’t distrust the experience
you had. That tenacity is what saved Moses and Joseph Smith when the adversary
confronted them, and it is what will save you.
…once there has been illumination, beware
the temptation to retreat from a good thing. If it was right when you prayed
about it and trusted it and lived for it, it is right now. Don’t give up when
the pressure mounts. Certainly don’t give in to that being who is bent on the
destruction of your happiness. Face your doubts. Master your fears. “Cast not
away therefore your confidence.” Stay the course and see the beauty of life
unfold for you.
“Fear ye not.” And when the second and
third and fourth blows come, “fear ye not. … The Lord shall fight for you.” Cast
not away therefore your confidence.” (Elder Holland “Cast not away therefore
Your Confidence”. Ensign, Mar. 2000)

Moses 1:4. We are children of our Heavenly Father.
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf:
“You are something divine—more beautiful and
glorious than you can possibly imagine. This knowledge changes everything. It
changes your present. It can change your future. And it can change the
world. . . .
“Because of the revealed word of a
merciful God, . . . you have felt the eternal glory of that divine
spirit within you. You are no ordinary beings, my beloved young friends all
around the world. You are glorious and eternal. . . .
“It is my prayer and blessing that
when you look at your reflection, you will be able to see beyond imperfections
and self-doubts and recognize who you truly are: glorious sons and daughters of
the Almighty God” (“The Reflection in the Water” [Church Educational System fireside
for young adults, Nov. 1, 2009]; LDS.org).

Moses 1:35. God has worlds without number
Elder Neal A. Maxwell of the Quorum of the Twelve
Apostles explained that “as the plan of salvation is executed and re-executed,
again and again, in realms beyond our purview, His love is constant and
personal” (“Wisdom and Order,” Ensign, June 1994, 43). Because God's “great and eternal plan” (2 Nephi 11:5) does not
vary, the same plan that will exalt the inhabitants of this earth is
implemented for the same purpose in all the worlds God has created. We learn
from Doctrine and Covenants 76:23–24 that the inhabitants of numerous worlds
“are begotten sons and daughters unto God” through the Atonement of Jesus
Christ. This truth under-scores the central role of Jesus Christ's infinite
Atone-ment in God's plan for the salvation of our world as well as the many
others created by His Only Begotten Son.
