D&C 84:62. We all the responsibility to be a missionary.

President Spencer W Kimball:

“The scriptures are abundantly clear in stating that all members of the Church are responsible to do missionary work. …

“The prophets of this dispensation also have clearly taught the concept that missionary service is the responsibility of all members.President David O. McKay taught the principle with the challenging words, ‘Every member missionary!’ (See Conference Report, April1959, p. 122.)” (“It Becometh Every Man,” Ensign, Oct. 1977, 3).

D&C 84:57. Reading the Book of Mormon will allow you to stand approved in the presence of God

“No member of this church can stand approved in the presence of God who has not seriously and carefully read the Book of Mormon” (Joseph Fielding Smith, Conference Report, Sept – Oct 1961)

D&C 84:54 Don't treat the Book of Mormon lightly

President Ezra Taft Benson taught:
“Do eternal consequences rest upon our response to this book? Yes, either to our blessing or to our condemnation.

“Every Latter-day Saint should make the study of this book a lifetime pursuit. Otherwise, he is placing his soul in jeopardy and neglecting that which could give spiritual and intellectual unity to his whole life. There is a difference between a convert who is built on the rock of Christ through the Book of Mormon and stays hold of that iron rod, and one who does not” (“The Book of Mormon Is the Word of God,” Ensign,Jan. 1988, 5).

“Let us not remain under condemnation, with its scourge and judgment, by treating lightly this great and marvelous gift the Lord has given to us. Rather, let us win the promises associated with treasuring it up in our hearts” (“The Book of Mormon—Keystone of Our Religion,” Ensign, Nov. 1986, 7).

D&C 77:1 Prophets give the correct interpretation of scripture

“Prophets gave the scripture, and prophets must interpret it. Holy men of old received revelation from the Holy Ghost, which they recorded as scripture; now men must have the same Holy Spirit to reveal what is meant by the scripture—otherwise there will be a host of private interpretations and consequently many different and disagreeing churches, which is precisely the condition in the religious world today” (in Conference Report, Oct. 1964, 38).

D&C 76:1 D&C 76 is amazing

President Wilford Woodruff said,
“I will refer to the ‘Vision’ [in section 76] alone, as a revelation which gives more light, more truth and more principle than any revelation contained in any other book we ever read. It makes plain to our understanding our present condition, where we came from, why we are here, and where we are going to. Any man may know through that revelation what his part and condition will be” (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Wilford Woodruff [2004], 120–21).

D&C 76:19 Study the scriptures

“When I say ‘study,’ I mean something more than reading. … I see you sometimes reading a few verses, stopping to ponder them, carefully reading the verses again, and as you think about what they mean, praying for understanding, asking questions in your mind, waiting for spiritual impressions, and writing down the impressions and insights that come so you can remember and learn more. Studying in this way, you may not read a lot of chapters or verses in a half hour, but you will be giving place in your heart for the word of God, and He will be speaking to you” (Elder Christofferson “When Thou Art Converted,” Ensign or Liahona, May 2004, 11).
